Obituary: Edward Glavan Jr.

Edward retired from Statesville Correctional Center in 2002, where he served as a dedicated Supply Supervisor.

Obituary was published and funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care and direction of the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home and Crematory​.

Edward A. Glavan Jr.

Edward A. Glavan, Jr., age 76, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born on June 8, 1949, in Joliet, the son of the late Edward and Mary (nee Wojciechewski) Glavan. Edward attended St. Joseph Grade School, and was a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School.

Edward retired from Statesville Correctional Center in 2002, where he served as a dedicated Supply Supervisor. He had a deep appreciation for classic cars and shared the love of traveling to car shows with his wife. Edward had a special fondness for dogs and found great joy in the companionship they brought. He cherished time spent with family, especially during holidays and gatherings. Known for his playful spirit, Edward was always a bit of a jokester, leaving those around him smiling and carrying fond memories of his humor and heart.

Edward is survived by his loving wife, Debbie; sister, Mary Ann Ackley, and his niece, Lisa.

Visitation for Edward A. Glavan, Jr. will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd., Joliet, IL, from 9:00 a.m. until his Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be made to the Will County Humane Society.
