Suburban Spot Lands On List Of Most Romantic Restaurants In U.S.

NAPERVILLE, IL — A recent roundup of the most romantic restaurants in the United States included four Illinois dining spots: three in Chicago and just one outside of the city. That suburban restaurant is Meson Sabika in Naperville, which landed on OpenTable's Top 100 Romantic Restaurants in the U.S. for the second year in a row.

The restaurant, housed in a 19th-century mansion, was praised in the roundup for its Spanish cuisine and "delicious drinks" and called an "unparalleled dining experience."

Meson Sabika boasts an overall ranking of 4.8 out of 5 on OpenTable, based on nearly 12,000 diner reviews. OpenTable reviewers raved about Meson Sabika's "attentive"and "top-notch" service and "outstanding" tapas, with many diners saying they were regular visitors to the restaurant.

The other Illinois restaurants that made the roundup are Geja's Cafe, Mon Ami Gabi and North Pond, all of which are located in Chicago.

To generate its roundup of the Top 100 Romantic Restaurants in the U.S., Meson Sabika used more than nine million diner reviews made between Dec. 1, 2024 and Nov. 30, 2025. The study used such metrics as five-star reviews, reservations and direct searches.
