Homer Glen Man, 43, Spat And Threw Drink At Police: New Lenox Police

NEW LENOX, IL — A Homer Glen man was arrested in New Lenox this week, on a warrant in connection with an earlier encounter with police, according to reports.

Police spotted Eric Terrell, 43, at the New Lenox Public Library Aug. 19 and were aware of an arrest warrant from an Aug. 8 incident.

In the Aug. 8 incident, police were called to Subway, 334 W. Maple Street, for a welfare check on a person sleeping inside the restaurant. Police spoke with the man, identified as Terrell. Terrell "became aggressive and threw a drink at the officer," according to police reports.

Police then escorted Terrell out of the business, and Terrell immediately entered an adjacent business. The officer followed Terrell and attempted to take him into custody. Terrell resisted arrest and spat on the officer, according to police.

Terrell was unable to be processed due to a medical issue and was transported to Silver Cross Hospital. A warrant was issued.

On Aug. 19, the officer spotted Terrell near the New Lenox Public Library. Terrell was identified, and the officers took him into custody for the warrant. Terrell was "passively resistant and refused to cooperate with processing procedures," so he was transported directly to the Will County Adult Detention Facility, according to police reports.

Terrell was also previously arrested in New Lenox on Aug. 6.
