Northbrook July 4 Parade Canceled; Fireworks Still Planned

NORTHBROOK, IL — Northbrook’s Fourth of July Parade has been canceled due to forecasted weather, officials announced Saturday

“Safety is always our highest priority,” organizers said in the update.

The Northbrook fireworks display is scheduled to continue as planned based on the current weather forecast. Pre-show activities will take place as weather allows, officials said.

The fireworks display is best viewed from Meadowhill Park, according to organizers.

Northbrook’s Independence Day events are organized by the Northbrook 4th of July Committee, which includes staff members from the Village of Northbrook and the Northbrook Park District. This summer marks the 11th year the agencies have worked together to coordinate the holiday festivities, with a focus on fun and safety.

The day’s schedule had included the annual Liberty Loop & Lap at Techny Prairie Park & Fields in the morning, followed by the parade down Cherry and Cedar Lane in the afternoon and the fireworks display in the evening.
