Dolton Man, 34, Charged After Guns, Cocaine, Cash Found In Narcotics Sting: Sheriff

DOLTON, IL — One man One man is facing multiple felony charges, and another man is facing a parole violation after Cook County Sheriff’s Police found guns and drugs while executing a search warrant in Dolton, authorities said.

At approximately 7 a.m. on Aug. 5, Sheriff’s Police Organized Crime Division Investigators and the Sheriff’s Police Hostage Barricade Team executed a search warrant in the 14500 block of Martin Luther King Drive in Dolton following a narcotics trafficking investigation.

Investigators found three firearms, more than 100 grams of suspect cocaine, packaging materials, and rounds of ammunition in the home, authorities said.

Julio Galvan, 34, who was the subject of the warrant, and Kojo Beck, 33, were both taken into custody, the sheriff's office said.

Later that day, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved armed violence, possession of more than 100 grams of cocaine, and manufacture/delivery of cocaine charges against Galvan. He was ordered to Cook County Jail custody on Aug. 6 following his first appearance hearing at the Markham Courthouse.

Investigators notified the Illinois Department of Corrections about Beck, who was on parole for aggravated domestic battery, and that agency issued a parole violation warrant against him, the sheriff's office said.
