No Threat Found At Oak Forest High School, Students Dismissed For Day: Police

OAK FOREST, IL — No threat was found after a sweep of Oak Forest High School Tuesday, authorities said.

Police were called to the school Tuesday morning for a report of a "possible threat," authorities said.

The school was on lockdown while South Suburban Emergency Response Team conducted a coordinated sweep of the building, Oak Forest Police said.

As of 12:45 p.m., no threat was identified. Students were dismissed for the day, police said.

Posen Police Department—which sent officers to schools within its own village—said the reported threat was of an active shooter at the school and appeared to be the result of a swatting call, or a "false report of an emergency intended to bring a significant law enforcement response."
