Bridgeview Man Found Shot On Street Identified, Death Ruled A Homicide: Medical Examiner

BRIDGEVIEW, IL—The death of a man found shot on a Bridgeview street early Monday morning has been ruled a homicide by the Cook County Medical Examiner.

Bridgeview police responded to a “person down” just before 3 a.m. in the 7800 block of South Oketo Avenue, where they found Niko Fuentes, 33, with a single gunshot wound to his torso.

The gravely injured man was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. Fuentes was lived a few miles away in Bridgeview from where he was found.

Bridgeview police said there is no threat to the community. The South Suburban Major Crimes Task Force has been activated.
