OL Spartans Honor Lives Gone, Survivors And Caregivers At Relay For Life Cancer Walk
Passionate OLCHS students gathered April 25 to advance the American Cancer Society's vision of ending cancer as we know it.
OAK LAWN, IL—Oak Lawn Community High School renewed its Relay for Life cancer walk this year after a seven-year hiatus.
American Cancer Society Relay For Life charity walks are held throughout the country. Passionate students came together April 25 to advance the American Cancer Society’s vision: ending cancer as we know it, for everyone. Relay For Life celebrates survivors, honors caregivers, remembers loved ones lost, and raises funds to ensure that everyone has the chance to prevent, detect, treat, and survive cancer.
“Watching students work so hard, giving so much time for something outside themselves, and realizing they can do hard things is so rewarding, said relay coordinator Jen Jepsen. “I know participating in this event changes them.”
