Man Shared Child Porn Using Social Media: Police

He was ordered to Cook County Jail after a court appearance on Friday, police said.

CICERO, IL — A Cicero man faces charges after he used social media to share child pornography, according to police.

Angel Davila Navarro, 25, is charged with possession and dissemination of child pornography, police said, and was ordered to Cook County Jail after a court appearance Friday.

The Cook County Sheriff’s Police Internet Crimes Against Children Unit launched an investigation in February after receiving a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a social media account containing files of child sexual abuse materials, according to the sheriff’s office.

The account’s IP address was associated with a home in the 3600 block of South 61st Court in Cicero and, on Wednesday, investigators executed a search warrant at the residence and found Davila Navarro inside, police said. His phone number was connected to the account with the files and he was taken into custody, according to the sheriff’s office.
