DillaDawgs Plans To Open Restaurant In Downtown Oswego

OSWEGO, IL — An Aurora food truck specializing in hot dogs and quesadillas is planning to open a full-service restaurant in downtown Oswego, the team announced over the weekend.

DillaDawgs, which first hit the road a year and a half ago, will take over the former Freddie's Off The Chain space, 11 S. Madison St. The Mexican restaurant shuttered earlier this summer but later announced it would return in the form of a food truck.

"What started as a food trailer is growing into a place where you can pull up a chair, grab a drink, and enjoy your favorite dawgs and dillas," the restaurant said on Facebook, "plus loaded fries, mac & cheese, and more! And yes… there will be a BAR!"

Until the restaurant begins welcoming customers, the food truck is parked at 220 N. Broadway in Aurora, unless it's traveling to various events in Kane and Kendall counties.

"To everyone who has stood in line, shared our posts, booked us for an event, or told a friend about us—THANK YOU," owners wrote in the announcement post. "Your support has helped make this next chapter possible."

The restaurant plans to share an opening date soon.
