With heavy hearts, our family announces the passing of our beloved Lore.

Lorena “Lore” Reyes, 62, of Joliet, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday October 14^th, 2026, at Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care. Lorena was born on May 29^th, 1964 in Joliet, IL and was the daughter of Guadalupe and late Francisco Reyes. Lorena was a graduate of Joliet Central High school and a lifelong resident of Joliet. She faced many challenges throughout her life, but through them all, she remained her strong and happy self.

Lorena loved the color pink, doing puzzles, crocheting, collecting Pokémon cards, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed Classic Rock, 80’s Music, playing games on her iPad, and coloring. She was also the happiest when she was surrounded by her loved ones and being able to share what she loved to do with others.

Lorena was surrounded by love and a family who protected her, celebrated her, and stood beside her every step of the way. Her presence brought something to our lives that cannot be replaced, and the memories we shared with her will remain with us forever. Her life was truly a gift to her family and everyone around her; she brought such a special joy just by being Lore. Saying goodbye leaves an emptiness that words cannot fully express.

Lorena was a beloved daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and an important part of the lives of so many who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving mother, Guadalupe Reyes; her siblings, brother Armando Reyes (Terri Reyes) and their children: Aaron, Tori, Andrew and Anthony; brother Frank Reyes & Jennifer Reyes and their children: Megan, Jacob, Gabriela, Joshua and Leah. Brother Oscar Reyes & Michelle Reyes and their children: Danielle, Brandon, Jeremy, Matthew, Jordyn, Grace, Isabella, Mikayla, Benjamin, and Faith.

She was preceded in death by her father, Francisco Reyes and her nephew Christopher Reyes.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, October 24^th, 2026, at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Rd, Joliet, IL 60431 followed by a Funeral Mass at Queen of Apostles Catholic Church, 18 Woodlawn Avenue, Joliet, IL 60435, at 11:00 a.. As per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the services. Visitation for Lorena Reyes will be held on Friday October 23^rd, 2026, at the funeral home chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black Road, Joliet, IL 60431.
