Bill is a longtime parishioner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church and former member of the East Side Club. He will be remembered as a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from the moments he shared with those he loved. An avid fan of the Chicago White Sox, he rarely missed a game and took pride in cheering on his team through every season. He found freedom and happiness on the open road, riding his beloved Harley-Davidson motorcycles, and brought that same passion into his home through his love of cooking, where he delighted in preparing meals for family and friends. Bill’s warmth, enthusiasm, and deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Margaret Rose (nee Knorr) Stanish; his two daughters, Erica (Sherman) Heckler and Amanda (Bruce Carter) Stanish; three grandchildren, Andrew William Heckler, Emma Shay Becker, and Ella Rose Becker; his siblings, Edward Stanish, Marie (Steve) Quaranci, and Cynthia Stanish; and his dear friends, Gary & Karen Gallagher and Tim & Terri Silakowski. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
