2 Charged In Palatine Vehicle Burglaries, Parking Garage Graffiti

Police said the suspects were linked to three June incidents involving burglarized vehicles and damage inside a village parking garage.

PALATINE, IL — Two men face multiple felony charges after Palatine police said they connected them to a series of vehicle burglaries and graffiti reported June 13.

Azrael Sullivan, 20, of Rolling Meadows, and Dennis Liebich, 18, of Des Plaines, were taken into custody Saturday following an investigation by Palatine detectives, police said.

Both were charged with three counts of burglary to a motor vehicle, each a Class 3 felony; one count of criminal damage to government-supported property, a Class 4 felony; and one count of criminal defacement of property, a Class A misdemeanor.

Three Incidents Reported June 13

Police were first called at about 3:45 p.m. June 13 to the 100 block of East Palatine Road for a report of multiple vehicle burglaries.

Later that evening, officers responded to another vehicle burglary that had occurred earlier in the day in the 100 block of North Oak Street.

At about 8:10 p.m., police were called to a village-maintained public parking garage in the 200 block of West Colfax Street, where graffiti had been written in multiple locations.

Investigators determined the three incidents were related and involved the same two suspects, according to police.

Detectives later identified Sullivan and Liebich, and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office approved charges against both.

Court Date Set

Sullivan and Liebich are scheduled to make their initial court appearances at 9 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, in Room 108 at the Cook County Third Municipal District Courthouse in Rolling Meadows.
