Palatine Township Awarded $500,000 in Community Project Funding for Haven Project

Federal funding will support facility improvements and expand access to essential services for 115,000 residents.

Palatine Township has been awarded $500,000 in Community Project Funding championed by Congressman Mike Quigley. Palatine Township’s Haven Project will upgrade the Township facilities, including the food pantry to help meet the increasing demand of residents utilizing the services. In 2025, Palatine Township served more than 19,000 individuals through its food pantry, reflecting the growing need for accessible, reliable community resources.

“The Haven Project represents a transformative investment in our community, strengthening our Township Center while expanding access to critical services for all 115,000 residents, especially those most in need. We are grateful to Congressman Mike Quigley for his support in advancing this important initiative. Through the collaboration of partners across all levels of government, along with the generosity of our donors and volunteers, we are breaking down barriers and ensuring every resident has access to the services, dignity, and support they deserve,” said Andy-John G. Kalkounos, Palatine Township Supervisor.

The Haven Project goes beyond facility improvements by expanding capacity and enhancing service delivery. The Township will be able to ensure that every individual and family who walks through its doors has access to the resources necessary to stabilize and improve their quality of life.
