Community High School District 218 Administrative Center

<a href="https://www.chsd218.org/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Community High School District 218</a> will host a meeting for parents of students with disabilities who attend private or home schools at 9 a.m., Tuesday, April 28, 2026.&nbsp; Special education staff will conduct the meeting at the D218t Administrative Center, 10701 S. Kilpatrick Ave., Oak Lawn.

Special education staff will discuss the district’s plans for providing special education services to students with disabilities who attend private schools or home schools within District 218 during the 2026-2027 school year.&nbsp; Any parent of a homeschooled student who has been or may be identified with a disability and lives in District 218 is encouraged to attend.

Hickory Hills Community Center

The Hills Chamber of Commerce is inviting seniors, caregivers and families to attend its 2nd Annual Senior Resource Fair on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hickory Hills Community Center, 7800 W. 89th Place, Hickory Hills.
The free event will offer attendees the opportunity to meet with a wide range of businesses and service providers focused on issues that matter most to older adults and their families. Vendors expected to attend include representatives from ComEd, Nicor, insurance companies, Medicare brokers, banks, physical therapy providers, mortgage companies, funeral homes, and more.
Also participating in the fair will be the Illinois Tollway, where attendees can get assistance with tollway-related questions, and iCash, which will be available to help individuals search for unclaimed property.
Organizers say the fair is especially helpful for those approaching age 65 and beginning to navigate important decisions regarding Medicare, insurance supplements and other senior-related services. Caregivers and family members are also encouraged to attend to gather information and connect with trusted professionals.
The Senior Resource Fair is designed to make it easier for community members to get answers, explore resources and speak directly with experts — all in one convenient location.
The Hills Chamber of Commerce looks forward to welcoming the community for a morning of helpful information, support and connection.

In celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary year, the Village of Orland Park is launching a new Memorial Day weekend kick-off event featuring a community parade, BBQ Rib Cook-Off, live entertainment, food trucks and an evening fireworks show at Centennial Park West (15609 Park Station Blvd). We are seeking a variety of enthusiastic units to showcase their red, white and blue in a fun, festive and family-friendly way in the morning parade. Participants may enter as a decorated float or vehicle, a walking unit, a performing group, a marching/music group or another patriotic-themed entry.

A variety of bands including Cadillac Grove (R&amp;B, Funk, Rock, Soul, Blues), Nashville Nation (Country), and Tramps Like Us (Bruce Springsteen Tribute) will be performing throughout the event along with fun inflatable bounce houses, children’s crafts, food/drink vendors with America 250 specials, and onsite sponsor giveaways will be available. The pyro-musical fireworks show kick-off around 9pm.

Web Works Golf is a Palos Heights-based youth golf program built to help kids feel comfortable, confident, and excited about the game from the start. Instruction is guided by coaches certified through the Golfzon Leadbetter Kids program, blending movement, simple fundamentals, and play to create a fun and approachable introduction to golf. The focus is on building a foundation that allows families to continue the experience together beyond class, whether at the range, on the putting green, or out on the course.
