I'd love to suggest a story idea regarding new technology helping local Plainfield area residents rethink what healthy aging looks like by bringing a new AI-powered healthspan fitness concept to the community.
On Aug. 12, 2026, Plainfield resident and dentist David Streitz opened his first The Exercise Coach® studio at 24012 W. Main St. #104 in Plainfield, introducing the company's newly expanded Strength Plus™ AI enabled platform to residents throughout Plainfield, Joliet, Shorewood, and surrounding communities.
Rather than focusing solely on exercise, the new Strength Plus™ AI-enabled platform is designed to help adults stay stronger, more mobile, mentally sharp, and independent as they age through a personalized combination of:
- Coach-Assisted Stretching to improve flexibility, posture, mobility, and everyday movement
- Balance Transformation Training to improve stability, coordination, and help reduce fall risk
- Cognitive Fitness Integration that combines balance and brain-based exercises designed to improve reaction time, spatial awareness, coordination, and cognitive engagement—I know of no other fitness concepts that offer cognitive fitness as part of their workouts
The personalized programs also include The Exercise Coach’s legacy AI-enabled strength training technology that automatically adjusts resistance in real time based on each client's performance, allowing workouts to continuously adapt as people become stronger while certified coaches guide every session. The result is a highly personalized, efficient program requiring just two 20-minute workouts per week.
The opening also coincides with The Exercise Coach franchise system’s 25th anniversary and the continued rollout of its Strength Plus™ AI-enabled healthspan platform nationwide. The franchise system has more than 225 locations nationwide and was named one of the top 10 fitness franchises by Entrepreneur magazine. So far, 64 of the 225 locations nationwide offer Strength Plus and more are being added every month. Also, please note that the entire national fitness franchise system is headquartered in Lake Zurich, so it is a Chicagoland-based franchise system.
