Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
About the Role
St. Timothy Lutheran Church is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Custodian to help care for our building and support the ministry life of our congregation. The Custodian works both independently and collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and contractors, playing a key role in supporting the day-to-day and seasonal needs of our church.
This is a ministry support position, and we value candidates who see caring for our space as an act of hospitality and service.
Schedule &amp; Availability
<ul>
<li>20-25 hours per week, primarily weekday mornings</li>
<li>Some weekend work required</li>
<li>Flexibility needed to accommodate worship services, funerals, weddings, and special events</li>
<li>Availability for on-call building emergencies</li>
<li>Preferred candidates will live within a reasonable commute to the church</li>
</ul>
Responsibilities
General Cleaning &amp; Upkeep
<ul>
<li>General cleaning duties and seasonal deep cleaning</li>
<li>Floor care and trash removal</li>
<li>Reset of church spaces following weekend services and events</li>
</ul>
Maintenance &amp; Repair
<ul>
<li>Light plumbing, painting, and general repairs</li>
<li>Changing air filters and light bulbs</li>
<li>Maintenance of all restrooms</li>
</ul>
Event &amp; Ministry Support
<ul>
<li>Set up and take down of tables, chairs, and furniture</li>
<li>Supervise and coordinate volunteers as needed</li>
</ul>
Physical Requirements
<ul>
<li>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs</li>
<li>Regular standing, bending, and walking</li>
<li>Ability to climb ladders</li>
<li>Ability to assist with the snow removal team</li>
</ul>
Qualifications
<ul>
<li>Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred</li>
<li>Comfortable performing basic repairs and using common tools</li>
<li>Reliable, detail-oriented, and service-minded</li>

An A Capella, 4-Part Harmony Music Production for All AgesFans of high-energy a Capella vocal music will be treated to some of the most talented groups in the Midwest on September 12 as the Chorus of DuPage (COD) hosts "Melodies and Memories” -- a show designed to celebrate classic and contemporary tunes and showcase award-winning barbershop groups for Chicago-area audiences. 

At 3 pm at Naperville's Grace United Methodist Church, 300 E. Gartner Road, several award-winning vocal groups will perform with the popular 30-voice Chorus of DuPage, including Vocal Spectrum -- former Barbershop Harmony Society international quartet champion. Also appearing on the show will be Stiletto Quartet -- the Sing United Midwest Harmony 2026 Quartet Champions, as well as two popular Chicago area quartets, the Upside Downers and Stratosphere.
 "We hope to delight area music lovers with a program that features a diverse mix of top talent, and a musical program theme that showcases music we all know and love," said John Morrison, COD chorus manager. The Naperville-based COD chorus, with members from throughout the Chicago area, will perform hits such as Can’t Take My Eyes Off You,
Yesterday, Daydream, and You’re Nobody ‘til Somebody Loves You
– and other favorites, performed in classic 4-part barbershop harmony style.
 The guest quartets will perform separately, and join the host chorus in a mass chorus number to conclude the show. 
 Tickets are available online or by phone at $20
for adults and $15 for students. Children under 5 are free, if accompanied by an adult. There is ample free parking at the church.

The Will County Children's Advocacy Center was founded in 1995 by State's Attorney James Glasgow to partner with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) comprised of law enforcement, DCFS investigators, medical personnel, prosecutors, and Will County CAC forensic interviewers, family advocates, and trauma therapists in response to reports of severe physical abuse, sexual abuse, commercial exploitation, neglect, and exposure to violence of children, in Will County, IL. Our Will County CAC intake/MDT coordinator, forensic interviewers, family advocates, and trauma therapists provide the following services: * Forensic Interviews: After a child is referred to the Will County CAC by law enforcement or the IL Dept. of Family Services (DCFS), our Intake Coordinator schedules a forensic interview for the child. One of our 4 forensic interviewers listens to the child’s story and asks non-leading, developmentally-appropriate questions as the child talks about the trauma he/she has experienced. Law enforcement, prosecution, DCFS, and mental health professionals observe the interview from a separate room. This reduces trauma for the child and provides a stronger foundation if the case goes to court. * Family Advocacy: Our family advocates are committed to helping each family navigate the complex systems that a family enters when a child makes an outcry of abuse. As each case goes through the investigation, prosecution and healing process, the team is there to help the family understand the process, learn about their rights and successfully access resources that will help their family during crisis. * Trauma-Focused Therapy: Our team of licensed clinical social workers provide short-term, trauma informed therapy to children who have received a forensic interview. Since child abuse affects the whole family, the services are available at no cost to both the child and their non-offending family members. Individual and group therapy is offered in English and Spanish.
