Math Teacher Named Department Administrator At West Aurora High School
He will oversee mathematics curriculum, instruction and programming at West Aurora High School.

AURORA, IL — A teacher at West Aurora High School was appointed the school's mathematics department administrator, the district announced.
The West Aurora School District 129 Board of Education approved Brandon Vicory's appointment Monday night.
In his new role, Vicory will oversee mathematics curriculum, instruction and programming at West Aurora High School, where he has worked as a math teacher since 2022.

"I am honored to serve West Aurora as the Department Administrator for 9–12 Mathematics," Vicory said in a statement. "As a West Aurora graduate and current educator, I am excited to support our teachers, strengthen curriculum and alignment, and help create clear mathematics pathways that challenge students while preparing them to be lifelong learners."
The district said Vicory has played an active role in curriculum development, instructional leadership and professional learning in his time at the school. He has helped develop district curriculum, contributed to instructional resource selection, and presented instructional strategies at district and county professional development sessions.

Beyond West Aurora High School, Vicory also teaches mathematics courses at Waubonsee Community College.
Vicory has a master's degree in mathematics with an emphasis in education from Grand Canyon University. He also holds a secondary education certificate in mathematics from Aurora University, where he received bachelor's degrees in actuarial science as well business and commerce, with minors in mathematics and finance.
