Plainfield Park District Achieves 'Triple Crown' In Financial Reporting
The Plainfield Park District is one of 441 governments that received the Triple Crown for the 2024 fiscal year.
PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Park District announced today that it has officially achieved the "Triple Crown" in financial reporting for the fiscal year ending 2024 by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.
GFOA’s Triple Crown designation recognizes governments who have received GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting, Popular Annual Financial Reporting Award, and Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for a fiscal year. Plainfield Park District is one of just 441 governments that received the Triple Crown for fiscal year 2024.

The Triple Crown designation represents a significant achievement. To qualify, each entity must meet the high standards of all three separate award programs. Each award program recognizes governments that produce reports which communicate their financial stories in a transparent manner and meet applicable standards.

Fiscal responsibility is one of the Plainfield Park District’s core values, emphasizing prudent spending, strategic budgeting, and a strong understanding of the local economy.
The District has a long-standing record of excellence in financial reporting. Its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report has received the GFOA’s Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for 19 consecutive years (first awarded in 2006). In addition, the District has earned the GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for nine consecutive years (first awarded in 2017).
