Spring Musicals Announced At Plainfield D202's 4 High Schools: See Schedule
Plainfield thespians will be staging productions of "Hadestown," "Chicago" and "Frozen: The Broadway Musical" this spring.
PLAINFIELD, IL — Thespians at Plainfield's four high schools are gearing up for their spring musicals.
Between March 13 and April 12, students will be staging productions that will "get your hearts leaping and toes tapping," Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 administrators said.
Plainfield North High School and Plainfield Central High School will put on teen-friendly versions of "Hadestown" and "Chicago," respectively, while Plainfield East High School and Plainfield South High School will each perform their renditions of "Frozen: The Broadway Musical."

"Hadestown: Teen Edition" at Plainfield North High School, 12005 S. 248th St.

When: 7 p.m. March 13 and March 14, 2 p.m. March 15
Summary: "Hadestown" is a modern, folk-jazz retelling of the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. Guided by the narrator Hermes, the story follows two young lovers navigating poverty, hope and sacrifice, while also exploring the complicated relationship between Hades and Persephone, the rulers of the Underworld. At its core, this is a story about love — and the courage it takes to choose hope in a challenging world.
Tickets: $10, with assigned seating. Online sales will close one hour before each performance. Tickets will also be available at the door.
"Frozen: The Broadway Musical" at Plainfield East High School, 12001 S. Naperville Road
When: 7 p.m. March 19, March 20 and March 21; 2 p.m. March 22
Summary: The production is a musical adaptation of the 2013 hit animated film of the same name, centering around the relationship between two royal sisters, Elsa and Anna. Full of magic, humor, and a stunning musical score, "Frozen" is a powerful tale of sisterhood, acceptance, and finding the real meaning of true love.
Tickets: $7 for adults, and $5 for senior citizens, children, students and staff. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door.
"Chicago: Teen Edition" at Plainfield Central High School, 24120 W. Fort Beggs Drive
When: 6:30 p.m. March 20 and March 21; 2 p.m. March 21 and March 22
Summary: In 1920s Chicago, Roxie Hart murders a lover and convinces her husband, Amos, to take the blame, until he turns on Roxie after finding out he was duped. Convicted and sent to death row, Roxie and another "Merry Murderess," Velma Kelly, vie for the spotlight and the headlines in search of fame, fortune and acquittal.
Tickets: $10 for general admission and $5 for Central High students. Tickets may be purchased online or at the door.

Tickets: $10 general admission and $5 for Plainfield South students. General admission tickets may be purchased online or at the door, while student tickets can only be purchased at the door.
