Pedestrian Killed In Overnight Crash On I-55 Near Weber Road: Police

ROMEOVILLE, IL — A pedestrian was killed in a crash on southbound Interstate 55 in Romeoville early Sunday, Illinois State Police said.

Police responded to a crash at 12:39 a.m. Sunday at I-55 southbound near Weber Road. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead, police said.

Police said there was also a secondary crash, involving three vehicles. No injuries were reported.

Southbound lanes were closed during investigation of the crash, but lanes reopened at 5:05 a.m. Sunday, according to police.

Police said the crash is still under investigation. No further information on the pedestrian's identity or what caused the crashes has been released.
