Romeoville Residents Benefit from Nicor Gas Community Connection Resource Fair

Free resources, groceries and energy-saving kits connect more than 240 local families with essential support services

ROMEOVILLE, IL — More than 240 Romeoville-area residents received free community resources and over 4,900 pounds of groceries during the latest Nicor Gas Community Connection Resource Fair. The event, held in partnership with Romeoville Mayor John D. Noak, State Representative Dagmara “Dee” Avelar and the Village of Romeoville, aimed to connect local families with essential services and support programs.

A wide range of community organizations participated, including The Salvation Army, the Illinois Department of Human Services–Division of Rehabilitation Services, Illinois Tollway I-PASS Assist, the American Red Cross, the Will County Center for Community Concerns (WCCCC), the South Suburban Housing Center, the Illinois Department of Treasury’s I-Cash program and VNA Health, among others.

In addition to access to social and financial resources, the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program team distributed more than 200 free energy-saving kits to help residents lower their home energy use and costs.
