Route 53 Resurfacing Begins July 13 In Romeoville
IDOT said that the work will require intermittent daytime lane closures.
ROMEOVILLE, IL — The Illinois Department of Transportation has announced that patching and resurfacing of Illinois 53 from north of University Parkway to Renwick Road in Romeoville and Lockport will begin on July 13, weather permitting.
IDOT said that the work will require intermittent daytime lane closures.
Access to residences and businesses within the work zone will be maintained throughout construction, according to IDOT. Work is expected to be finished in September.

"The public can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area," IDOT's news release states. "Alternate routes are encouraged. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to flaggers and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits and be on the alert for workers and equipment."
