Vietnamese Sandwich Shop Opens Near Joliet: 'Bake & Bite Is A Wonderful Addition'

SHOREWOOD, IL — Joliet is not the only community in the region continuing to draw new restaurants to open. This marks the first full week of business for the village of Shorewood's new Bake & Bite. It's different from practically every restaurant you can visit in the region. How so?

Bake & Bite features an array of different Vietnamese sandwiches. And there's a great promption: buy five sandwiches and get the sixth one free, the menu board shows.

"Bake & Bite is a wonderful addition to Shorewood's dining scene, bringing authentic Vietnamese cuisine and flavors that offer our residents something new and exciting," village of Shorewood Economic Development Director Natalie Engel informed Joliet Patch.

"This unique restaurant expands the variety of dining options available in our community by offering bánh mì sandwiches, vermicelli and rice bowls, wings, and appetizers. We're especially excited that the success of 2 Teas Boba helped inspire another member of the family to open a business in Shorewood," Engel continued. "It's rewarding to see entrepreneurial families continue to invest in our community, and we're thrilled to welcome Bake & Bite as another outstanding local dining destination."

Joliet Patch first reported on the plans to open the Bake & Bite back in April. At the time, the storefront was in the midst of major remodeling in order to get it up and going.

Located in the inside business plaza along Route 59 just north of the Holy Family Catholic Church, the Bake & Bite Vietnamese restaurant features bahn mi, bowls and wings. The new restaurant operators are cousins of the family that owns and operates the 2 Teas Boba restaurant next door.
