Georgia Fugitive Wanted For Child Molestation Nabbed In Marquette Park: Cook County Sheriff

Jalynn Montgomery, 25, was wanted by Savannah, GA police for sending a sexually explicit photo of himself to a child, sheriff's police said.

CHICAGO—A Georgia fugitive wanted for child molestation was nabbed in Marquette Park by members of the Cook County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force.

U.S. Marshals contacted Cook County Sheriff’s Police July 29 for help in finding Jalynn Montgomery, 25, who was wanted by the Savannah, GA police for allegedly sending an explicit photo of himself to a child.

Jaylon Montgomery, 25, a Georgia fugitive wanted on a charge of child molestation, was apprehended in Marquette Park Aug. 12, police said.

Police learned that Montgomery may be living in the 6600 block of South Rockwell Street in Chicago’s South Side Marquette Park neighborhood and possibly driving a 2014 Chevrolet Captiva.

On the morning of Aug. 12, officers staked out the residence. Later that morning, law enforcement officers observed the Captiva leaving the garage. Police said officers stopped the car and found Montgomery in the passenger seat.

Montgomery remains in Cook County Jail awaiting extradition to Georgia.
