Netflix Film Crew Descends On Downtown St. Charles For Rom-Com

ST. CHARLES, IL — A Netflix film crew descended on downtown St. Charles Tuesday to shoot scenes for a romantic comedy at Town House Books.

The production, operating under the working title "Big Red," is believed to be Netflix's adaptation of Lynn Painter's young adult novel "Better Than the Movies," which has been filming in the Chicago area this fall, according to Shaw Local. About 80 crew vehicles were expected downtown, with filming at the bookstore scheduled to run from about 2 to 8 p.m. and street and parking restrictions in place around the production.

The movie stars Beatrice Kitsos and David Iacono, with Judy Greer and Luke Kirby also among the cast.
