St. Charles Election Packets Available Friday

Residents interested in running for five alderman seats or city clerk can pick up nomination packets starting Aug. 21.

ST. CHARLES, IL — Residents interested in running for St. Charles city offices in the April 2027 consolidated election can begin picking up nomination packets Aug. 21, according to the city.

Packets will be available from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays at the St. Charles Municipal Building, 2 E. Main St. Residents also can request that a packet be emailed by contacting Deputy City Clerk Marzena Sheets at msheets@stcharlesil.gov, according to a news release.

Petitions cannot be circulated for signatures before Aug. 25.

Completed nomination packets must be filed with the City Clerk’s Office between Nov. 16 and Nov. 23. The filing deadline is 5 p.m. Nov. 23, according to a news release.

The following four-year offices are up for election on April 6. Five St. Charles alderman seats and the city clerk position are up for election in 2027, city officials said.

Residents with questions about election requirements, precincts or filing procedures can contact the Kane County Clerk’s Office at 630-232-5990 or the DuPage County Elections Division at 630-407-5600. Election forms also are available through the Illinois State Board of Elections.
