Hosted at Soundgrowler Brewing Co., 8201 183rd Street, Suite P, in Tinley Park, Summerween has grown significantly since its debut in 2023. What began as a fun seasonal market has evolved into a destination event that attracts visitors from throughout the Chicagoland area looking for a unique blend of handcrafted art, outstanding local beer, incredible food, and just the right amount of spooky.

"This event has taken on a life of its own," said John E. Streetz, founder of Streetz Artz Alliance. "It's crazy to think we're already in our fourth year. Summerween isn't just another craft show anymore. It's become a South Side tradition where people know they're going to discover amazing artists, enjoy great beer, and spend an afternoon surrounded by people who love Halloween as much as they do."

Streetz Artz Alliance is known for carefully curating each event rather than simply filling vendor spaces. Every artist is selected to create a balanced mix of returning favorites and exciting newcomers while embracing the playful Summerween theme.

Visitors can expect everything from original horror-inspired artwork and spooky home décor to handcrafted jewelry, woodworking, pottery, books, fossils, candles, gourmet foods, coffee, gourmet pies, pickles, tie-dye apparel, tarot readings, crochet creations, and countless one-of-a-kind gifts that simply can't be found in big box stores.

Among this year's artists making their Summerween debut are Dye The Day Away, Gunderstorm Art, Hex & Crust, Jack Lasater, Lost & Found Custom Planters, Rogue Relics, Saucy Makes, Scruppet's Cavern of Curiosities, Stink Co., Storytellers Forge Studios, Sweet Ghoul, Thick Nick Glass, and Where arts Collide. Many are appearing at Soundgrowler for the very first time, bringing fresh talent and new experiences to returning attendees.

Several featured artists embody exactly what Summerween has become.

Dead Girl Decor creates wonderfully weird jewelry, horror-inspired gifts, ornaments, bookmarks, and home décor for those who believe Halloween should be celebrated every day of the year.

Fossil Creek Art combines folklore, cryptids, prehistoric creatures, and upcycled materials into distinctive artwork and handcrafted goods inspired by both history and imagination.

FrankenWerks Studios brings its popular BooBrigade ghost sculptures and quirky FrankenHead magnets back to haunt homes and offices in the best possible way.

Gunderstorm Art introduces hauntingly whimsical pen-and-ink illustrations filled with eerie characters, Krampus ornaments, ghost prints, and horror-inspired apparel.

Visitors with a sweet tooth won't want to miss Hex & Crust, serving gourmet pies and slices with imaginative seasonal flavors, while horror fans can meet Jessie Rose of Black Summer Press, author of dark psychological thrillers inspired by heavy metal music and the darker side of rock and roll.

For those who appreciate the unusual, Morbid and Mortified offers ethically sourced bone art and oddities, while Luna's Loops brings an eclectic collection of handmade crochet creations ranging from fantasy creatures to creepy-cute décor.

The experience extends well beyond shopping.
Soundgrowler Brewing Co. has become one of the South Side's premier destinations by pairing award-winning craft beverages with an outstanding Mexican street food menu.

Guests can enjoy favorites like Tortilla Hands, the brewery's signature Mexican lager, alongside Orange Haze IPA, one of Soundgrowler's most popular hazy IPAs. The brewery also serves handcrafted tequila cocktails, house-made fruited seltzers, premium Mexican sodas, and house-made root beer, providing something for every guest whether they drink alcohol or not.

Throughout the event, the kitchen will be serving its popular tacos and burritos alongside a modified food menu designed to complement the brewery's extensive beverage offerings.
Streetz Artz Alliance hosts dozens of curated artisan markets throughout the year at independent breweries across the Chicago suburbs, but Summerween has developed a personality all its own.

"One of my favorite things about this event is seeing artists who absolutely fit the theme," Streetz said. "We have horror artists, authors, tarot readers, spooky décor makers, oddities, amazing food vendors, and artists whose creativity surprises people every year. Then you mix that with Soundgrowler's atmosphere, great beer, tacos, and a beautiful outdoor beer garden, and it becomes an experience people genuinely look forward to."

Every purchase made during Summerween directly supports independent artists, authors, and small businesses from throughout Illinois and the surrounding Midwest.

Summerween Market takes place Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 12 to 5 p.m. at Soundgrowler Brewing Co., 8201 183rd Street, Suite P, Tinley Park, Illinois. Admission is free. Pets are welcome in the outdoor beer garden but are not permitted inside the brewery. Service animals are always welcome.
