Back To School: District 200 2026-27 Academic Calendar

WHEATON, IL — There are less than two weeks of summer left until students head back to school. Back-to-school planning has already begun at Community Unit School District 200, with calendars available to help parents prepare their children for a smooth transition into the 2026-2027 school year.

The first day of school is set for Aug. 14 for all District 200 students, grades one through 12. Kindergarteners start school on Aug. 17 and early childhood classes begin Aug. 18.

Here's a look at some dates to know for the upcoming school year:

Aug. 14: First day of school, grades one through 12

Aug. 17: First day of kindergarten classes

Aug. 18: First day of early childhood classes

Sept. 7: Labor Day; no school

Sept. 25 Institute Day; no school

Oct. 9: Parent-teacher conferences; no school

Oct. 12: Indigenous Peoples Day; no school

Nov. 2: Institute Day; no school

Nov. 3: Election Day; e-learning

Nov. 23-Nov. 27: Thanksgiving recess

Dec. 23 - Jan. 5: Winter Break

Jan. 6: No School

Jan. 18: Martin Luther King Jr. Day; no school

Feb. 15: Presidents' Day; no school

Feb. 23: Election Day; possible e-learning day

Feb. 26: County Institute Day; no school for students

March 26-April 2: Spring Break

April 6: Election Day; e-learning

May 7: Half-day Institute Day

May 29: High School Graduation (tentative)

May 31: Memorial Day; no school

May 28: Last day of school (tentative)

June 1 - June 7: Emergency Days
