Groom Recital Series: Judy Congdon, organist

The Wheaton College Conservatory of Music presents an organ recital featuring Judy Congdon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, October 26.

For the past 35 years Judy Congdon has held the position Professor of Organ and College Organist at Houghton University (formerly Houghton College) in Houghton, NY. Her present and former students include competition-winning performers, church musicians, and music educators, many now leading their own thriving music programs.

Dr. Congdon has performed locally and regionally in recent years, both solo recitals and concerts in collaboration with others. During the COVID pandemic she performed monthly livestreamed organ programs at Houghton Wesleyan Church. In earlier years she played recitals in many parts of the United States and abroad. She was a featured recitalist at the 2019 Regional AGO Convention in Buffalo, NY. Her work has also included adjudicating regional and national organ-playing competitions.

This concert is part of the Lester W. Groom Endowment Organ Series and will take place in the Concert Hall of the Armerding Center for Music and the Arts, located at 520 E.
