WHEATON, IL — The Wheaton Police Department responded to reports of a Craigslist scam, an AT&T scam, a car burglary and other incidents, per the department's recent crime blotter

Craigslist Scam

A resident told police they paid for an apartment on Craigslist in late March. In late April, they reported the transaction as fraudulent.

Car Burglary

A car was burglarized in the 100 block of Wesley Street on April 19. The resident told police a laptop was stolen in the burglary, which took place between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Bicycle Theft

A bike was stolen from the Metra station at 303 N. President St. on April 22. The bike had been locked and was stolen between 6:40 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

AT&T Scam

A resident was contacted by someone who said they were a representative from AT&T on April 23. The victim was duped into sending funds to a fraudulent acccount.
