Fire Displaces All Residents Of Apartment Building In Wheaton

The fire broke out Wednesday afternoon in an apartment building on College Avenue.

WHEATON, IL — Every resident in a 16-unit apartment building was displaced from their home after a large fire broke in a building on College Avenue in Wheaton Wednesday.

Fire fighters were called to the 1000 block of College Avenue around 2 p.m. and arrived at the scene to find significant fire in a unit on the building's first floor. It took about 15 minutes for fire crews to extinguish most of the blaze.

No one was hurt in the fire. The displaced residents are being assisted with housing by the American Red Cross.
