2 Injured After Metra Train Strikes Truck In Wilmette

Customers are advised to seek alternate transportation, as UP-North trains are halted due to a collision.

WILMETTE, IL — Two passengers were injured Thursday afternoon after a Metra UP-North train struck a vehicle in Wilmette.

According to Metra, an outbound train collided with a semi-truck at the Linden Avenue crossing at approximately 2:46 p.m. Fire officials told ABC Chicago that two train passengers were injured.

Customers are advised to seek alternate transportation, as UP-North trains are halted in all directions due to the collision

Due to the service disruption in Wilmette, the Chicago Transit Authority is cross-honoring Metra tickets at all Red, Brown and Purple Line stations. Customers can show their Metra ticket to the station attendant.
