David Rose, 92, Worked on Manhattan Project

A Downers Grove man who was a part of the Manhattan Project—a research and development project that produced the first atomic bombs during World War II—has died at the age of 92. 

David Rose was born in Chicago, attended Carnegie Mellon University and worked on the Manhattan Project. A proud WWII veteran of the U.S. Army, Rose also worked as a scientist at the Argonne National Laboratory. 

Beloved husband of Pearl E. nee Lerner. Loving father of Donald Rose and the late Howard Richard Rose. 

Service Thursday, Nov. 21 at 10 a.m. at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Road (one block north of Lake Cook Road) in Buffalo Grove.
