Police To Target Impaired Drivers During Labor Day In Woodridge
Woodridge PD is one of 200 local law enforcement agencies taking part in a statewide traffic safety initiative leading up to Labor Day.
WOODRIDGE, IL — The Woodridge Police Department will be out in full force as part of a traffic safety push leading up to Labor Day.
The safety campaign will begin early Aug. 14, with an increased police presence patrolling for drivers who are speeding, driving impaired, violating seatbelt laws or committing other traffic infractions.
"Driving under the influence —whether it's alcohol, cannabis or any other impairing drug— is not just risky, it's illegal," Woodridge Police Chief Tom Stefasnon said in a statement.

He added, "We'll be patrolling with zero tolerance for impaired driving because our goal is to protect the people of Woodridge."
The safety initiative, which will conclude on Sept. 8, is part of the statewide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click It or Ticket" campaigns.
