Woodridge Police To Crack Down On Seatbelt Violations For Memorial Day

Woodridge police will increase patrols in the days leading up to Memorial Day as part of a traffic safety initiative.

WOODRIDGE, IL — Woodridge police will increase patrols starting May 15 as part of a traffic safety initiative that coincides with the Memorial Day holiday.

During the initiative, part of the statewide "Click It or Ticket" campaign, police will be especially vigilant for seatbelt violations.

“Buckle up every trip, every time,” Police Chief Tom Stefanson said in a statement. “Seat belts save lives, and we are committed to keeping our roads safe.”

The increased patrols will take place during both daytime and nighttime hours. Woodridge police warn that drivers violating seatbelt laws will be pulled over and ticketed.

The safety campaign is expected to last through May 26.
