Before school starts...

2.Β Adjust their routine.Β Firm up their bed and mealtimes to reflect what they willΒ experience once school starts. While this is happening, talk to them about howΒ this will help them get ready for school.
3.Β Do activities that are geared towards reading, counting and learning.Β These activities help you connect with your child and let them know youβreΒ interested and excited about their education. Keep an eye on the amount of screenΒ time kids have and adjust it to the expectations for when school starts.
4. Connect with school staff and your childβs teachers.Β This can be done by going to registration, open houses and orientation activities.Β Also, find out the best way to stay connected with them, whether itβs by e-mail,Β phone or notes. Let them know if your child has any special sensitivity that mayΒ need some accommodation. As a parent you are your childβs biggest advocate!Β
