On August 30, 2021, at approximately 9:34 PM, Deputies were dispatched to a stabbing in the 5600 block of south 143rd Street East. When deputies arrived, they located a 48-year-old male in the driveway with multiple stab wounds. The victim was transported by EMS to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
During the investigation, deputies learned there was a physical disturbance between the victim and Douglass R. McGathy (32). McGathy was arrested and booked for Murder in the second degree.
