Best Places To Watch The Blue Angels In Annapolis

The Blue Angels will soon be in Annapolis for the U.S. Naval Academy's Commissioning Week. Here's where you can watch the show.

ANNAPOLIS, MD — This month, the Blue Angels will fly over the Annapolis skies twice as part of the U.S. Naval Academy's Commissioning Week.

The first flight will take place May 19 for a rehearsal, with the official program being held May 20 in honor of the 2026 class of graduating midshipmen.

The rehearsal day will see the Blue Angels perform circle and arrival maneuvers between 11 a.m and 1 p.m., and then a run-through of their flight demonstration from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Officials say spectators situated in the Ingram Field will be able to hear the show's narration. However, public access to the academy remains severely restricted due to the suspension of general visits and the Trusted Traveler Program.

Permitted guests are required to be accompanied by an authorized sponsor throughout the entirety of the festivities.

On both days, the jets will fly over the Severn River in the area of the Naval Academy Bridge, which will temporarily close between 10:45 a.m. and 3:45 p.m. for the rehearsal and then from 1:45 p.m. to 4 p.m. on day two of the flyover.

Road closures and maritime restrictions will be in effect while the Blue Angels conduct their flight routes.

Where Can You Watch The Blue Angels?

As the Blue Angels will be circling the town, residents can catch a glimpse of the jets from any open area in downtown Annapolis.

Some viewing posts outlined by officials include the areas along the City Dock or the Jonas and Anne Catharine Green Park.

The park, located at 2001 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd., is considered one of the more premier viewing locations for spectators on land.

The best view of the show, some say, is from the water. In fact, some companies are still offering specials for those interested.
