June 12, 2026 - The "Charm'tastic Mile" of Baltimore (CTMB-1.3) www.thecharmtasticmile.com. The chic & famed 1.3 mile corridor located in the heart of Charm City (Est.1975) that connects Dwtn-West, the Inner Harbor & Harbor East (S. Greene & W. Pratt Street to S. President & Fleet Street) that is now listed on Google search as one of the Top 10-15 Most Famous Streets in America is reporting the lessons learned about the power of the USPTO www.uspto.gov Trademark in America.
It's been a whirlwind two-months here in Baltimore when you talk about the business of the USPTO trademark. This past April 21st Churchill Downs Inc. purchased the (IP) Intellectual Property rights of the Preakness Stakes & Black Eyed Susan Stakes for $85 million dollars. It was blow out of nowhere. The organizers of the Kentucky Derby now owns the rights to the Preakness Stakes.
The 151st running of the Preakness on May 16th was held at Laurel Park due to the reconstruction of Pimlico, home of the Preakness. CDI under the agreement will keep the race at Pimlico and help in the effort with $400 million dollar construction at new race track.
4-days later on April 25th was the official 10th Anniversary (2016-26) of The "Charm'tastic Mile" being introduced to the City of Baltimore. The "Charm'tasti Mile" was published as a USPTO (R) trademark on September 15, 2020. It joined The Magnificent Mile, Rodeo Drive & Vegas Strip as the very-few USPTO Trademark Streets in America.
The "Charm'tastic Mile" (4-25-216) shares the same-day of introduction to Baltimore as the Iconic Domino Sugars neon sign (4-25-1951), 65-years apart. April 25th was the official 75th Anniversary (1951-2026) of the Domino Sugars neon sign being unveiled.
Maryland Live! Casino earlier this month was being sued by high-end fashion house Louis Vuitton Malletier for millions in damages in which they claim Maryland Live! infringed on their USPTO trademark pattern with counterfeit merchandise. The case was filed on June 1, 2026 at U.S. District Court in the District of Maryland.
A USPTO Trademark is very powerful thing. It guarantees you rights to use your trademark and gives to the power to stop anyone who infringes.
