Fourth of July activities in Baltimore could have extra sparkle in 2026, the 250th anniversary, or semiquincentennial, of the Declaration of Independence.

The holiday falls on a Saturday in the middle of a three-day weekend, July 3-5. To help you fit it all in on your 4th of July calendar, Patch has put together a guide to fireworks and other celebrations in Baltimore and the surrounding areas.

July 4 2026 Baltimore Fireworks, Live Band

  • Where: National Harbor
  • What: Celebrate Independence Day on July 4 with a waterfront festival featuring family activities, live entertainment and a fireworks display over the Potomac River scheduled for 9:30 p.m. The event is part of the nation's 250th anniversary celebration and is expected to draw large crowds, with prime viewing available along the harbor promenade and at several ticketed venues overlooking the waterfront.

Cherry Hill Arts & Music Waterfront Festival With Fireworks 2026

  • When: Jul 4, 2026
  • Where: Middle Branch Park, Baltimore
  • What: This annual July 4th tradition celebrates Baltimore’s rich musical and artistic culture, especially the plethora of African American creatives moving the city forward. Bringing people together from all over the city, the festival also celebrates unity, freedom and shared history.

92nd Annual Dundalk July 4th Parade 2026

  • When: Jul 4, 2026
  • Where: 3401 Dundalk Ave.
  • What: The 92nd annual Dundalk Independence Day Parade will step off at 8:15 a.m. July 4 from the Logan Village Shopping Center and travel a 2.4-mile route through the heart of Dundalk. One of the Baltimore area's longest-running Fourth of July traditions, the parade typically features more than 125 entries, including marching bands, community groups, decorated vehicles and civic organizations, drawing thousands of spectators along the route.

2026 Laurel Independence Day Celebration

  • Where: Granville Gude Park, Laurel
  • What: Laurel's Independence Day Celebration returns to Granville Gude Park on July 4 with a community parade beginning at 3 p.m., followed by family games, live music, food vendors and other activities throughout the afternoon and evening. The daylong celebration culminates with a fireworks display over Laurel Lake at approximately 9:15 p.m.

July 4th Downtown Annapolis Parade, Fireworks 2026

  • When: July 4, 2026
  • Where: West Street, Annapolis
  • What: Downtown Annapolis will celebrate Independence Day on July 4 with its annual parade stepping off at 6:30 p.m. along West Street and through the city's historic district, featuring marching bands, community groups, patriotic floats and vintage vehicles. The evening also includes a 7:45 p.m. performance by the U.S. Naval Academy Electric Brigade on the State House grounds before concluding with a fireworks display over Spa Creek at approximately 9:15 p.m.

Chesapeake Baysox's Star Spangled Spectacular

  • When: July 4, 2026
  • Where: Prince George’s Stadium, Bowie
  • What: This event will feature live music, family activities, on-field games for children, food and concessions, and a fireworks display to cap the evening. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., with entertainment beginning throughout the night before the fireworks show after dark.

Celebrations around the country not only recall the events leading up to the Continental Congress's adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776, but also look ahead, aiming to make the 4th of July weekend a massive, multigenerational cultural moment focused on community connections and charitable giving.

America’s Block Party, an unprecedented coast-to-coast initiative, is one of the signature events of America 250, the congressionally chartered nonprofit overseeing the semiquincentennial celebration.

A Times Square Ball Drop, a rolling series of ball drops, timed to occur at midnight on July 3 in every U.S. time zone from Guam to American Samoa, is part of the “Giving 4th Broadcast Benefit Show,” creating a nearly 24-hour celebration of the 250th anniversary. It’s part of the broader “Giving 4th” initiative that aims to make and establish Independence Day the biggest annual day of giving.

A time capsule will be buried in Philadelphia to be opened in 2276 on July 4. It contains a carefully curated collection of letters and artifacts reflecting the leadership, institutions, and communities that shape the country today. It will include contributions from all three branches of the U.S. federal government and submissions from each of the 50 states, Washington D.C., and five territories.

Separately, the White House’s Freedom 250’s biggest spectacles are the Great American State Fair on the National Mall, running June 25 to July 10; the July 4 Salute to America Fireworks, also on the National Mall; “Sail 4th 250,” billed as the largest-ever flotilla of tall ships from around the world in New York Harbor; and Rushmore 250, an iconic 4th of July fireworks on July 3 alongside military concerts and live presidential reenactors.
