Woman Struck Baltimore Cop's Bike With Pink Tesla, Prosecutors Say

BALTIMORE, MD — A woman accused of striking a Baltimore police officer's patrol bike twice with a pink Tesla after he tried to give her a parking ticket has been charged with first-degree assault, prosecutors said.

Tamia Anderson was indicted on charges including first- and second-degree assault and fleeing and eluding, along with related traffic offenses, Baltimore City State's Attorney Ivan Bates announced Thursday.

The encounter began around Aug. 13 around 9:50 p.m., when Officer Lawrence Fasano spotted a pink Tesla Model 3 illegally parked in the 1900 block of Thames Street, prosecutors said.

Fasano told Anderson she would receive a parking ticket and instructed her to remain at the scene. Instead, prosecutors said Anderson got into the Tesla, made a U-turn toward Fasano and struck the front wheel of his patrol bike. Anderson also threw a glass bottle toward Fasano but did not hit him, prosecutors said.

Fasano followed the Tesla to obtain its license plate number, prosecutors said. Anderson then stopped despite having a clear path to leave, put the Tesla in reverse and accelerated toward the officer.

The Tesla struck Fasano's bike between its front and rear wheels, forcing him to abandon it and move to safety, according to prosecutors. Anderson then drove away, yelling "I don't give a f---" at the officer, court documents said.

Anderson was later arrested. Authorities did not provide additional details about when or where she was taken into custody.
