2 Men Arrested In Teen's Sexual Assault: Aberdeen Police

Two men have been arrested in connection to the rape of a juvenile at a motel. The men were armed, police reported.

ABERDEEN, MD — Two men have been arrested in connection to the rape of a juvenile.

On May 9 around 2:18 p.m., Aberdeen police officers came across a juvenile outside a motel located in the 900 block of Hospitality Way who appeared to be distressed, the police department stated.

After a brief conversation with the juvenile, officers immediately recognized the signs that the juvenile likely had been the victim of a violent crime, the police department stated.

Members of the APD Criminal Investigations Division took over the investigation and identified Jeofredo Andason Santos Bernal, 24, of Parkville and Miguel De Jesus Pineda Lopez, 27, of Baltimore, as suspects in the case. Both men were taken into custody during a traffic stop in Aberdeen, according to the police department.

During the investigation, detectives executed a search warrant and recovered additional evidence, including a handgun believed to be connected to the incident. Both suspects have been charged with multiple serious felony offenses, including rape and related crimes involving the use of a dangerous weapon, the police department stated.

Because of the victim's age and the sensitive nature of the case, no additional identifying information will be released, the police department noted.
