Furniture Business Remains Opens After Warehouse Fire In Jarrettsville

JARRETTSVILLE, MD — A fire broke out at a Harford County business Sunday, but the owners stated they are not closing their doors.

Multiple fire companies sent crews to fight the blaze that broke out Sunday night at Jarrettsville Furniture's warehouse, located at 3743 Federal Hill Road in Jarrettsville. No injuries were reported by the fire companies. A stretch of MD 165 was shut down temporarily.

The family-owned business has operated since 1972 in Harford County.

"This (fire) will leave us unable us to function in our normal capacity. We will be reaching out to individual clients who are affected by this terrible incident. I am terribly sorry for any inconvenience this may have on anyone and we ask for your patience," owner Frank Avena stated on social media.

The store's 35,000-square-foot showroom sustained only minimal smoke and water damage, according to reports. Avena noted that the Bel Air location remains open and able to assist customers.

"Thank you to our customers, employees, first responders and community for your incredible support," Avena wrote.

Preliminary estimates peg damages and loss of contents at $1 million.
