$100K Lotto Win To Help Security Guard Pay Off Medical Bill
A Fort Washington man used license plate numbers when he played the Pick 5 game and ended up winning $100,000.
FORT WASHINGTON, MD — A Prince George's County man relied on frequently seen license plate numbers when he bought two $1 Pick 5 tickets and ended up winning $100,000.
The Fort Washington man used the number combination of 25121 and ended up with two $50,000 top prizes for a total win of $100,000.
“If you see a number three or four times, play it,” he said. “You just might get it.”

The security guard purchased his tickets at the Royal Food Mart at 12500 Livingston Road in Fort Washington. He regularly plays draw games such as Pick 4 and Bonus Match 5, he told lottery officials.
However, he didn't check his ticket until earlier this year and then realized he had matched all five numbers. He wasn't sure how much he had won until he was finally able to get to Maryland Lottery headquarters

He didn’t check the ticket until early January, but realized he had matched all five numbers.
“I know how much that is,” the winner recalled thinking.
An injury delayed his visit to Maryland Lottery headquarters until March. That's when he realized he'd won $100,000 - the largest amount he's won to date. He plans to use the winnings to pay medical bills and buy a used car.
