Prince George's Schools Change Schedule For Monday Due To Weather

The incoming snowstorm has prompted Prince George's County Public Schools to change their schedule for Feb. 23.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Due to unfavorable weather, Prince George's County Public Schools will be closed for in-person learning. All schools will implement virtual teaching and learning, officials announced Sunday.

Synchronous virtual instruction will start on a two-hour delayed schedule. All offices are closed for in-person work; all offices will operate virtually. Emergency personnel only should report to work with a two-hour delay.

Families are encouraged to review virtual learning guidance so students are prepared to connect for virtual learning, officials said.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning until 10 a.m. Monday for Harford and Howard counties with total snow accumulations between 5 and 10 inches with localized amounts around 12 inches in northeast Maryland. Northwest winds gusting between 30 and 45 mph overnight through Monday.
