Riverdale BBQ Eatery Lands On National Top 20 List

RIVERDALE, MD — A Prince George's County eatery has racked up another national honor.

2Fifty Texas BBQ has been named one of the best barbecue restaurants in America by loveFOOD, an international food and travel website.

loveFOOD recently released its ranking of the best barbecue restaurants in the U.S. where 2Fifty Texas BBQ in Riverdale Park landed on the list at No. 17 in the country. The publication ranks eateries based on user reviews, awards and accolades, along with the opinions of its food and travel team, while acknowledging that “some level of subjectivity is unavoidable.”

Earlier this year, 2Fifty also earned national recognition on Yelp’s list of the “Top 100 BBQ Restaurants in the U.S., According to Yelp Elites” and was named a 2026 James Beard semifinalist, as well as a finalist in the 2026 RAMMYs, the regional restaurant and food service awards held by the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington.

Pitmaster and co-owner Fernando González sticks to Texas BBQ tradition, allowing the smoked meat to stand on its own, using sauces sparingly. When used, the sauces are rich with a balanced sweetness and tanginess, designed to complement rather than overpower the meat's natural flavors, the restaurant states on its website.
