Parents' Santa Disclosure Breaks 10-Year-Old's Heart (ICYMII
A Pasadena girl was shocked to learn a secret about Santa Claus, but has embraced the idea that "Santa lives in our hearts," says her mom.

PASADENA, MD β A girl with suspicions about the origins of Santa Claus β Spoiler Alert! β may have landed on the Naughty List with her response to her parents.
Nicki Adams of Pasadena shared the drama with friends on Facebook Dec. 10. She said her daughter, Belle, 10, had been quizzing her and husband, Mike, daily for a month about Santa.
Adams wrote, βBelle asked point blank about Santa and sheβs been asking every day. So we were truthful and she may never speak to us again.β

In response to the debunking of the Santa myth, Belle wrote a note to Mom and Dad, and slid it under their door, which Adams shared on social media.

βYou have no idea what you just did. I really tried to belive [sic]. Everyone told me its your parents. I canβt belive [sic] you anymore. Is the Easter bunny real? How about the tooth fairy, huh? You just ruiend [sic] a 10-year-oldβs childβs LIFE. Thanks.
Nothing will make me feel better. U lied to me about something I loved that BROKE my heart.β
With the emotion that only a disappointed 10-year-old can muster, the message is then illustrated with the drawing of a heart ripped in two. And then several drawings of a hand labeled with the middle finger and the hashtag #middlefingeremoji.
Adams tells Patch that at first they βfelt awful! And then came the middle finger emoji and yes, her father and I had to move away from the door because we were laughing so hard.β
Belleβs parents explained to her about the magic of Christmas and the power of believing.
βWe told her that Santa lives in our hearts and once we know the truth about Santa, that we all become Santa and itβs our duty to pay it forward to the next child to make their Christmas magical,β Adams said. βAnd thatβs just what sheβs doing.β
While the couple werenβt pleased with the angry drawing, they canβt wait to show it to Belle when sheβs an adult.
