Fire Breaks Out At Paper Shredding Company

Firefighters battled a blaze at a paper shredding company in Howard County Thursday afternoon. No injuries were reported.

Around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, firefighters and paramedics from Howard County and Anne Arundel County crews responded to a commercial building fire at a property located in the 6700 block of Oak Hall Lane.

COLUMBIA, MD — A paper shredding company experienced a fire this week, which was quickly extinguished by Howard County firefighters.

Around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, firefighters and paramedics from Howard County and Anne Arundel County crews responded to the commercial building located in the 6700 block of Oak Hall Lane.

They found smoke billowing from the bay doors of the paper shredding company. The found a fire in a feed bin and conveyor belt system, which was put out within 20 minutes, the fire department stated.

All of the employees had evacuated before firefighters arrived. No injuries were reported.
