Suspect In Woman's Death Hospitalized After Shooting Himself: Police

The suspect wanted for a 21-year-old woman's death in Baltimore Co. drove to Howard Co. and shot himself. He remains in critical condition.

COLUMBIA, MD — Detectives continue to investigate a murder-attempted suicide that spanned two counties.

The suspect wanted for a fatal shooting that happened around 3 p.m. May 14 in the unit block of Hillside Road in Catonsville then drove to a location in Columbia where he shot himself. He remains in critical condition, according to Howard County Police.

The person fatally shot in this case has been identified as 21-year-old Kaylie Logston. While detectives were conducting their investigation into Logston’s shooting, they were notified that a man who was in a relationship with Logston was being treated at an area hospital for a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to police.

Those injuries were sustained during an incident that occurred in the 10000 block of Wincopin Circle, Columbia.

Howard County police confirmed Friday the man allegedly fired several shots into the air in a parking garage area before shooting himself.

“This was an attempted suicide,” Howard County police said in a public statement.

Authorities said there were no additional injuries and no property damage reported during the Columbia incident.

At this time, detectives are not looking for any additional suspects.
